VendorSite Connect functionality enables manufacturers to gather and share critical information about supply chain activities with their suppliers.

VendorSite Connect is built on Eventra’s Supply-Centric Data Repository, a centralized data warehouse containing all inbound supply chain information – historic, current and forecast. The Supply-Centric Data Repository integrates data feeds from multiple enterprise and supplier systems to provide the only real-time view of supply chain activities.

VendorSite Connect performs the following functions:

  • Data Normalization
Many enterprises follow the same basic business processes for procurement, but execute them in dramatically different ways. VendorSite standardizes inter-enterprise data and business processes to provide common data definitions and a common data view for all users.
  • Data Transformation
Using Eventra’s patent-pending, rule-based data management technology – Content Sensitive Data Transformation (CSDT) – VendorSite establishes the relationship between incoming data and data already existing within the data warehouse. CSDT intelligently determines how to handle incoming data to ensure that the Supply-Centric Data Repository contains only the most up-to-date and current supply chain information. CSDT determines whether the incoming data needs to be added to the data warehouse, change information in the data warehouse or delete information in the data warehouse.
  • Data Consolidation
Once incoming data is transformed, it is consolidated into the Supply-Centric Data Repository based on business rules. At this point, the Supply-Centric Data Repository contains the most current view of the activities of the inbound supply chain.

VendorSite Connect functionality includes:

  • Data transfers to and from manufacturers
VendorSite supports data transfers to and from manufactures in a wide variety of common formats, including EDI, XML and proprietary flat files. Additionally, VendorSite leverages webMethods to deliver additional integration capabilities with enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications.
  • Data transfers to and from suppliers
VendorSite allows for the bi-directional transfer of data files to and from suppliers. VendorSite supports a wide variety of data file formats, including EDI, XML and proprietary flat files.
  • Data uploads and downloads
Supply chain data, such as planning information, can be uploaded from or downloaded to business applications such as Microsoft Excel and Access for further formatting and analysis.
