Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc.
The history of Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. is unique to the automotive industry. It's origins date back many decades and involve the dedication of numerous individuals and companies. Originally, SIA was a joint venture between Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. and Isuzu Motors Limited. This venture was formed in March of 1987. At the beginning of 2003, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. became the sole owner of SIA. SIA will continue to build Isuzu vehicles under contract for Isuzu Motors Limited.

Subaru pioneered the concept of the passenger car/Sport Utility Vehicle with the introduction of the Subaru Outback, the "World's First Sport Utility Wagon". Subaru has been the best-selling import wagon in America for the past 18 years, based on the Polk Company retail registration statistics.

All Subaru Forester, Outback, Impreza, Legacy and the newest model Baja, marketed in North America, are produced at the company's Lafayette, Indiana manufacturing facility. Over the past eight years, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. has seen its sales increase by nearly 100 percent thanks to its popular line of car-based SUVs.

Eventra was noted in a recent AMR Research Report as an example of a SRM software company providing successful SCEM implementation utilizing a phased approach process. Following is an excerpt from recent AMR Research, Inc. February 2002 Report:

"The AMR Research Report: Supply Chain Event Management in the Field: Success With Visibility by Kimberly Knickle and Jennifer Kemmeter, February 2002

Example 1: Phased approach
Subaru of Indiana Automotive uses Eventra for its parts ordering operation to reduce both high variability and the 10- to 14-day lead-time requirement for purchasing aftermarket parts for its service division. Phases: Phase One automated the aftermarket parts PO workflow, cut the lead time to hours, and exposed the data to all employees involved in the parts ordering process on one shared format. Phase Two addressed the ordering of production parts on Eventra. Finally, Phase Three entailed purchasing pilot parts (parts for vehicles that will be used in models for 2004) and steel for its supply base via Eventra."
